Larry Bird’s Choice is a small business located in the Hills of Arthurs Seat, on the Mornington Peninsula.

Larry Bird is an amazing Rainbow Lorikeet who came to us looking for a home. He was only young and was saved from the clutches of a very hungry feline friend!!

Since being with us Larry has developed an amazing vocabulary saying things such as: “Hello there!” when you walk past his aviary.

When he would like an apple he says: “Apple!” Then taps his friend on the head and says: ”Do you want an apple?”,

His mate replies: “Oohh Apple”,
Larry Bird says: “Say PLEASE!!” and has a giggle!!

Once he receives his apple he says: ” Oohh THANK-YOU!!”
Pecking his mate on the head and says: “Say THANK-YOU!!”

So as you can see we have been inspired by our amazing little friend who frequently lies on his back banging his building blocks on the wire of the aviary, or pushes his toy car around, or just lays back and giggles!! In his spare time has managed to teach 5 other lorikeets to talk, as well as a female Eclectus!!
As we acquired more lorikeets our dry and wet mix bill was beginning to sky rocket!! So we decided to begin reading & researching, talking to as many people as we could and decided that there had to be a more economical way, without compromising the health of the birds. Hence after putting some samples out there and acquiring some feed back, with guidance from the experts. A Big Thank you to all who assisted the birth of Larry Birds Choice.

Our Blends contain only the best rice cereals, wheat germ, oats etc. Some customers like Malt in their mix some like Multi-vitamins, Pollen is also available but its market price is quite expensive at the moment, it is entirely up to you. If you are unsure you can leave it up to us, questions are always welcome.
